Honorary Consulate of Nepal in Singapore

General Information

This office is the only authorised consulate/agency to issue visas to Nepal.  

All foreign nationals (except Indian citizens) are required to have a valid visa to enter Nepal. 

Applications must be submitted online through the official portal.

Nepal visas are issued as entry visas and are valid for multiple entries within the visa validity period.

Visa Types & Fees

  • 15 days (multiple entry): SGD 50
  • 30 days (multiple entry): SGD 80
  • 90 days (multiple entry): SGD 200

Processing Time: 5–7 working days

Application Procedure

  1. Submit your application online via the official portal.
  2. The Consulate will verify your application within 3-5 business days.
  3. Upon approval, payment instructions will be emailed.
  4. Visa processing begins after payment confirmation.

Requirements

  • Passport copy with a minimum of 6 months’ validity and at least 2 blank pages
  • Recent passport-sized photograph
  • Application details must match passport information exactly

Visa Collection

Notification: You will receive an email once your visa is ready (5-7 working days from submission).

Collection Schedule

  • Days: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday
  • Time: 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm
  • Closed: Weekends and Singapore public holidays

Collection Procedure

  • Reply to our email to confirm the appointment.
  • Bring your original passport (not a photocopy).
  • Attend your scheduled appointment at our office only on the visa dates and times given.

Collection by Representative (if unable to collect in person):

  • Signed authorisation letter (with applicant’s full name and passport details)
  • Applicant’s passport
  • Representative’s identification document.
  • A specimen authorisation letter is attached, if needed

Visa Validity & Stay Duration

  • Visa Validity: 6 months from date of issue (must enter Nepal within this period).
  • Stay Duration: 15, 30, or 90 days (depending on visa issued). Duration begins from the first entry date.
  • Multiple Entry: Allowed during the 6-month validity period.

 

Example:

  • Visa issued on 1 January (30 days)
  • Must enter Nepal before 1 July
  • Stay up to 30 days from the first entry date

Visa on Arrival (Alternative Option)

Travellers may also apply for a visa on arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport, Kathmandu.

Note: Certain nationalities (e.g. Nigeria, Ghana, Zimbabwe, Somalia, Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria, etc.) are not eligible for a visa on arrival. They must obtain a visa on arrival online in advance.

Gratis Visa (No Fee)

Gratis visas may be issued for:

  • Diplomatic/official passport holders with official notes
  • Children under 10 years (except US citizens)
  • SAARC citizens (excluding Afghanistan) – first visit in a visa year, up to 30 days
  • Afghan citizens (with the Department of Immigration recommendation)
  • Non-Resident Nepalese (NRN) cardholders
  • Chinese nationals (150-day gratis tourist visa annually)

Important Reminders

  • Visa collection is by appointment only; walk-ins are not accepted.
  • Visa fees are non-refundable once processed.
  • No urgent/express service is available; applicants should apply well in advance.
  • Passport must have a minimum of 6 months’ validity.
