SingPost now offers a new online platform in selected areas in Singapore allowing residents to become acquainted with their local postmen. On July 16th, SingPost released mypostman.sg as a part of its MyPostman campaign, which aims “to foster deeper ties between residents and their postman”. This website comes in response to multiple controversies that arose in recent years.

Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA) fined SingPost earlier in 2018 for failing to meet delivery standards on nine different occurrences in 2017. Singpost was also accused of other misdemeanours such as illegally discarded unopened mail by a SingPost postman in January, and a four-month delay that was only just reported a few days later.

SingPost is motivated to build a better ethos for the postal workforce and improve the standards of its service with the help of the new campaign. The trial will run in Yishun and Bukit Batok, with postal code areas starting with 58, 59, 65, and 76 until September 2019.

Residents can key in their postal codes on the website to find out their assigned postman and give him or her a service rating, feedback and words of encouragement.
